What would happen if a silly but beautiful woman woke up one morning with a brilliant mind but a chubby body? Shaped by Josh Berman (CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Bones), Lifetime’s legal dramedy answers the burning question. Two very different women are about to meet their doom.
Jane Bingum (Brooke Elliott, Wicked, The Pirate Queen) is a brilliant, hardworking attorney with a flair for fashion, who realizes what little joy she finds in work and carbohydrates. Meanwhile, Deborah “Deb” Dobkins (Brooke D’Orsay, Two and a Half Men, Psych) is a lean, light-minded aspiring model, who heads to an audition for The Price is Right. As it happens, both cash in their checks… As Deb enters the gates of Heaven, Fred (Ben Feldman, Living with Fran, Mad Men), the celestial doorkeeper, informs her that although she never performed an evil deed, she neither did a good one, making her his first “zero-zero”. However, she manages to get sent back to Earth, but via the imperfect body of Jane.
In this wacky journey, she is accompanied by a diagnosis of semi-amnesia and, more important, by Teri Lee (Margaret Cho, Sex and the City, Ghost Whisperer), Jane’s sassy and loyal assistant, and Stacy Barrett (April Bowlby, CSI: NY, How I Met Your Mother), Deb’s best friend and roommate and the only person from her old life who knows that she now inhabits Jane’s body. Demoted to guardian angel, Fred gets a job at Jane’s firm so he can keep a close watch on his runaway soul. The former goldilocks finds that Jane works in the same law firm as her boyfriend, Grayson Kent (Jackson Hurst, The Closer, NCIS). Although he is a peach of a guy, devastated by his girlfriend’s death, Deb is convinced he would give her the go-by now that she is Jane. To spice things up, there’s Kim Kaswell (Kate Levering, Cold Case, White Collar), a scheming colleague, Jay Parker (Josh Stamberg, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Criminal Minds), a possibly sleazy boss, and an army of upcoming guest stars (Rosie O’Donnell, Sharon Lawrence, Paula Abdul, Kim Kardashian). Still, mostly there’s just Jane, a ravishing woman, trying to figure out how to adorn her new life…
