SEASON OVERVIEW:


Sprung from the rich minds of a hand of executive producers whose credits include True Blood and House, Cinemax’s drama follows an enigmatic confidence artist (Antony Starr, Outrageous Fortune, Rush) recently released from prison, who goes under the guise of Lucas Hood, the new sheriff of Banshee, Pennsylvania, whose murder he witnesses before the lawman’s first day on the job. 

 He initially lays over in town to reunite with Anastasia (Ivana Miličević, Hawaii Five-0, Psych), his former lover and partner in crime. Once a notorious jewel thief, now known under the name of Carrie Hopewell, she settled down for life with Gordon Hopewell (Rus Blackwell, One Tree Hill, Drop Dead Diva), Banshee’s district attorney. The couple has two children, Deva (Ryann Shane, Blue Bloods, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit) and Max (Gabriel Suttle, Army Wives, NCIS: Los Angeles). Her husband and offspring know nothing of her past. As if things weren’t wry enough, the two accomplices are hunted by Mr. Rabbit (Ben Cross, Poltergeist: The Legacy, Trial & Retribution), a ruthless Ukrainian gangster whom they worked for and betrayed 15 years earlier.

 At the drop of the hat, Lucas befriends Sugar Bates (Frankie Faison, The Wire, The Good Wife), a former boxer, turned bar owner, who knows the new sheriff’s criminal past and has his back, meets Kai Proctor (Ulrich Thomsen, Alias, Fringe), a local intimidating highbinder, and has a series of conversations with Job (Sex and the City, White Collar), a wisecracking cross-dresser, who plays a key role in Lucas’ schemes. Among the colorful characters who populate Banshee rank Brock Lotus (Matt Servitto, Suits, The Mentalist), the longest serving deputy in the sheriff’s department, Emmett Yawners (Demetrius Grosse, Heroes, Justified), a heavenly-minded, but strong officer, Siobhan Kelly (Trieste Kelly Dunn, Brothers & Sisters, Golden Boy), a nymphy, who left her painful past behind her to become a policewoman, and Rebecca Bowman (Lili Simmons, Jane by Design, Vegas), a local Amish girl in her early 20s, who abides by the rules during the day, but parties at night.
