SEASON OVERVIEW:
A Based on George R. R. Martin’s best-selling “A Song of Ice and Fire” series of novels, “Game of Thrones” carries you into a medieval fantasy world, where seven noble families agree like cats and dogs. It’s a story of intrigues brewed in the darkest corners, in the name of power, fame and the Iron Throne. They will stretch from the south, where Machiavellian minds rule the roost, to the vast and savage eastern lands, all the way to the frozen north and the ancient Wall that protects the kingdom of darkness. In a land where “summers span decades and winters can last a lifetime”, menaces lurk at every turn. These families engage in a deadly game of cat and mouse, whose goal is the absolute control over the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros.
At the beginning of the show, King Robert Baratheon, trapped in a political marriage to the rich and scheming Cersei Lannister, asks his lifelong friend, Lord Eddard “Ned” Stark of Winterfell, to be his new Hand. Meanwhile, the throne is threatened from East by Daenerys and Viserys Targaryen, the princess and prince of the Targaryen dynasty who were exiled after their family was massacred. There’s also rumor in the wind strange things happen at the edge of the kingdom, where Jon Snow, the bastard son of Lord Eddard “Ned” Stark of Winterfell, comes to accept the men of the Night’s Watch as his new brothers.
As betrayals, carnal lust, intrigues and supernatural forces shake the four corners of the kingdom, the bloody battle for the Iron Throne will have unforeseen consequences. “Game of Thrones” makes a fantasy world as engaging as any other genre, if not more… Enjoy the show!
